Tony Perkins Gets Invitation To A Family Dinner From LGBT Family Group
Tony Perkins admitted on CNN yesterday that he has never even been to the home of a same-sex couple. Following in the footsteps of Dan Savage, who this week invited NOM president Brian Brown to his home for dinner, the head of the Family Equality Council has just invited Tony Perkins and his family “to visit my home and have dinner with my spouse and children with the full hope that you will witness the love that exists in our families.”

Perkins, who heads the certified anti-gay hate group Family Research Council, has had a tough time in recent week, getting hit with actual hardball questions by Chris Matthews on “Hardball,” getting slammed by Soledad O’Brien and Brooke Baldwin on CNN, in addition to the usual comments from LGBT organizations and activists who denounce his anti-gay hate speech and lies.
Calling his “steadfast opposition to full equality for the 1 million lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parents who are raising 2 million children in our country today” “especially concerning,” Jennifer Chrisler, Executive Director, Family Equality Council sent the below letter to Perkins. In it, she extends a “sincere offer” to “spend meaningful time.”
Will Perkins say “yes”? Who know. NOM president Brian Brown has yet to respond to Dan Savage. Perhaps Perkins will shown more courage.
