Romney The Chameleon Often Changes Policies — But Now Skin Color? — To Appeal To Voters
Mitt Romney last night appeared on Univision, the largest Spanish language U.S. television network, and showed the audience of Latinos and Hispanics that he was one of them — by dying his skin brown. There is absolutely no question that Romney either used some form of a self-tanner, or get a very deep, dark tan in a very short amount of time, but somehow, all images are consistent with the fact that Romney appeared last night on TV with a significantly darker face.
Above, a screen shot direct from the Univision website’s video of the event — YouTube version from Univision’s account is embedded below.
“So! Self-tanner ‘accident’?,” asks Wonkette. “Makeup lady what needs firing? Or did John Boehner take him tanning for a little pick-me-up? He has been having a very hard week.”
Gawker asks, “has it gotten so bad that Romney is now resorting to ‘brownface’ in order to make himself more appealing to Univision viewers? Democratic Underground has looked at the photo above from last night’s ‘presidential forum‘ and concluded that, yes, Romney definitely ‘dyed his face brown‘.”
This may seem funny, but it’s absolutely offensive, racist, and disgusting.
Romney’s flip-flopping on policy is bad enough, his lying is disgusting, his policies alone — if you can figure out which version he’s using on any given day, absolutely are atrocious, his thanking the Family Research Council, an anti-gay hate group, for their “leadership last week is beyond the pale, but dying your face to appeal to Hispanic voters?
Sick.
