Perkins: Gays Won’t Rest Until Traditional Marriage Advocates Silenced
Tony Perkins says that gays and gay marriage advocates won’t rest until traditional marriage advocates are silenced, and says that same-sex marriage is the “height of humanism.”
Perkins is the anti-gay head of the certified anti-gay hate group, Family Research Council.
“They will not be satisfied until those who hold a traditional, natural view of marriage are completely silenced,†Perkins says in this audio. “They are so intent on accomplishing this that anyone and everyone who would challenge them must be silenced. And we are seeing this in the media, and now we’re seeing this into the marketplace. It’s an effort to stigmatize, to marginalize and ultimately to cause people to self-censor.â€
“I don’t think you can look at homosexuality and what is taking place without examining the spiritual dynamics here. This is essentially man shaking his fist in the face of God and saying I don’t need you, that we will do it our way. It is the height of humanism,” Perkins accuses.
On Top Magazine, who provided the audio and transcript, adds,
“In a radio broadcast this week, Perkins criticized gay rights advocates who have pressured companies to distance themselves from the Charity Give Back Group, formerly the Christian Values Network. Give Back donates a portion of profits to charity groups, including the FRC and the Colorado-based Focus on the Family. Both groups have vehemently opposed gay marriage.”
Humanism is a rather odd concept to use as a slur, don’t you think?
Recently, Perkins, who is vehemently anti-science, attacked California’s SB 48 for taking time away from the teaching of science.
For more on Perkins, read author Alvin McEwen’s, “Sixteen reasons why Tony Perkins’ Family Research Council is a hate group,” at LGBTQ Nation. McEwen warns, “I think a verse from the Bible would best describe Perkins and the Family Research Council:
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. – Isaiah 5:20″
