Olympic Diver Tom Daley, Rumored To Be Dating Dustin Lance Black, Hits Back At Critics
On Tuesday, Olympic diver Tom Daley came out via a very honest YouTube video, announcing he is dating a man. “I’m dating a guy and I couldn’t be happier,” the 19-year old Bronze medal winner said.

Last night, the tabloids said they figured out who the man is: award-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, author of “Milk.”
And the underlying current of criticism is not only that Daley is dating a man, but a man 20 years his senior. Black is 39.
“Daley is dating Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black, reports E! News, and sources confirm this to The Advocate. Black, 39, and Daley, 19, were spotted together in Hollywood in October,” the Advocate reports.
Their relationship will be chronicled in the Wednesday edition of The Sun, a U.K. newspaper, according to reporter Dan Wooton.
For his part, Black is remaining coy:
Slept all day today after my trip to Russia. Did I miss anything?

But Daley had a few words of his own to say:
Thanks for your support 🙂 Still Tom. Still diving. Going for gold in 2016. What I am or who I date shouldn’t matter. #Road2Rio

It’s the 21st century.
Their ages or genders really shouldn’t matter. They’re adults, and it’s no one’s right to criticize them. Rather, we should be happy for them — assuming the rumors are true.
Congratulations to the happy couple.
