NOM Launches Website To Profit From Family Research Council Shooting
NOM, the National Organization For Marriage, today launched their “Hero Of G Street” website, designed to profit from Wednesday’s shooting at the Family Research Council (FRC). The FRC headquarters are on G Street in Washington, D.C., and NOM wasted no time, registering the site Thursday, and launching it today, Friday.
The website is a simple email harvesting ploy, using an event to “allow” people to express their feelings or show support for “free.” In return, NOM takes their valuable email addresses and, presumably, adds them to their email fundraising list. NOM regularly sends several fundraising emails each week, sometimes two per day. This year NOM has already sent about 100 emails to supporters.
The “Hero Of G Street” designation comes from the FBI labeling of Leo Johnston, the FRC building manager NOM incorrectly calls a “security guard,” as a hero — rightly so.
Profiting from the heroic efforts of others is truly offensive and shameless. NOM’s stock in trade.
