Jay Brannan Releases New Single: “Dear Santa” (Video)
Singer/songwriter/performer/all-around-awesome-artist Jay Brannan just released his latest song on YouTube, which may appear on his highly anticipated upcoming album. The song, appropriately titled for a December release, is “Dear Santa.”
My fiancé and I heard the song, and of course loved it, at Brannan’s recent performance in October at New York City’s famous and newly remodeled Joe’s Pub. Not our first time seeing Brannan there, either!
What I really like about Jay Brannan is his honest, deep and, well, not sarcastic, but at times, perhaps, caustic, lyrics. Not to mention, he’s got a great voice. He also takes the time to respond to tweets about him on Twitter. In other words, he’s getting very popular, but he’s charmingly self-deprecating and his success hasn’t gone to his head.
Regular readers will remember we posted Jay Brannan’s tribute to Amy Winehouse, just after her passing.
Enjoy, and I hope if you like the song you’ll check out his appearance schedule, and perhaps buy the song on iTunes. And no, I don’t get anything, other than a little pleasure from knowing others will get to enjoy his music.
