Donald Trump: I Gave Lady Gaga Her First Big Break
Donald Trump apparently wants back in the spotlight, and he’s willing to do or say just about anything to get some attention. Now, Trump, the failed GOP presidential “canditease” has decided to take credit for giving pop superstar Lady Gaga her first big break. In his new book (can’t be a GOP candidate without one, right?) Trump writes that his people at the Miss Universe pageant told him “there’s this woman with good talent named Lady Gaga,” and he told them, “I don’t care … if you like her, put her on.”
And that was that.
Donald Trump’s amazing talent brought to America the amazing talent of Lady Gaga.
Because when you’re “The Donald” you just make stuff up, take credit for other people’s work, and shoot your mouth off knowing there are zero consequences.
Access Hollywood adds:
“I own the Miss Universe pageant,†he writes in his new book, “Time to Get Tough: Making America #1 Again.†“About four years ago, during what you call half-time, we always have an entertainer. We’ve had a lot of great people, and you don’t pay them anything because it’s one of the biggest audiences and my people told me, ‘Nobody knows who she is, but there’s this woman with good talent named Lady Gaga.’
“I said, ‘I don’t care … if you like her, put her on.’ So we put her on … it was live all over the United States and all over the world and the next day, nobody was talking about Miss Universe, everybody was talking, ‘Who was the woman, who was the entertainer? She was unbelievable,’†Trump continued in his book.
…
“She’s been very gracious about it,†he added. “I don’t want to say we made Lady Gaga, but she was incredible and that was her break.â€
Yes, Lady Gaga, as you can see from this video we found, did perform on Miss Universe in 2008.
But just take a look at her history via Wikipedia, and you’ll see there’s no mention of the performance, and there is mention of a great deal of hard work.
Something, I imagine, The Donald knows little about.
