Chick-Fil-A: Insider Hypocrisy And Gloating

Published

on

Dan Cathy and the folks at Chick-Fil-A have been gloating for the past 24 hours over their amazing sales day — the “best day ever” according to news reports based on Dan Cathy’s own comments.

Above, witness an official Chick-Fil-A Marketing Department press release about yesterday’s “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day.”

Below, witness a tweet from none other than Pastor Rick Warren of the Saddleback Church, a man who, despite his claims, has ties to Uganda’s “Kill The Gays” bill.

Yes, Rick Warren’s tweet says, “@dancathy just called me.  has already set a world record today, with 7 more hrs to go in the West.

Yes, Chick-Fil-A does not comment on sales. Unless they have an unpaid spokesperson who is a Southern Baptist Minister and former Governor and former GOP presidential candidate, aka Mike Huckabee, trolling for them.

Not that any of this matter.

It’s not about the chicken. It’s not about Chick-Fil-A. It’s about fueling the culture wars and funding anti-gay groups to the tune of $5 million. It’s about supporting groups that literally lobby Congress to not condemn Uganda’s “Kill The Gays” bill.

It’s about hate. In the name of religion.

Watch: Pete Buttigieg Perfectly Slaps Aside Conservatives Criticizing His Paternity Leave

Published

Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday morning, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg perfectly dismissed conservative critics who took issue with his taking paternity leave following the premature birth of his twins.

Sitting down with host Jake Tapper, the Democrat sat and watched a clip of Fox News host Tucker Carlson making a crude joke about “breastfeeding” — which led Buttigieg to make his case.

“What’s your response?” host Tapper asked.

“As you might imagine, we are bottle feeding and doing it at all hours of the day and night,” Buttigieg explained while smiling. “I’m not going to apologize to Tucker Carlson or anyone else for taking care of our premature twins. The work we are doing is joyful, fulfilling, important work — it’s important work and it’s work that every American ought to be able to do whether they welcome a new child into their family.”

“I campaigned on that, so did the president, by the way,” he continued. “We are pretty much the only country left that doesn’t have some kind of national policy for paid leave. I think it’s us and New Guinea. It’s past time to make it possible for every American, mother and father, to take care of their children when a new child arrived in the family.”

‘Bannon Is Up to His Eyeballs’: Watergate’s John Dean Reveals Why His Testimony Could Implicate Trump

Published

on

Former White House counsel John Dean explained why it is so important for the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the U.S. to interview Steve Bannon.

Dean, who was disbarred after pleading guilty to obstruction of justice in the Watergate scandal that drove Richard Nixon from office, offered his analysis in an interview with CNN’s Jim Acosta.

“I think we have to be careful about what inferences we draw from non-appearance or non-testimony but, I think Bannon is up to his eyeballs,” Dean said. “I think he’s a vital witness.”

“I think he could lead to Trump or those closest to trump and I do believe that the indications are that Trump is much more involved in this whole thing than we think he was,” Dean said.

“Do you think this committee will ultimately get access to the documents and testimony they want and if so, by the time the next election rolls around?” Acosta asked. “Every cynic in Washington is just shaking their heads and saying no.”

“Well, it’s a good question,” Dean replied. ‘Trump has been as good a president as any to obfuscate and delay and do it with some success. I don’t have a crystal ball as to how this is going to come out.”

“I think this committee is determined. I hope, Jim, they get their act together and use the power they do this, which is inherent contempt powers. In 1934, the Senate sent the sergeant at arms down to get an assistant secretary of commerce and put him in jail, put him in the Willard [Hotel] for ten days until he agreed to cooperate. That’s still good law,” he explained. There’s Supreme court rulings back as early as 1821 that the House could do this. I think they should and I think they should do it next week, if you will.”

WHY DOES TUCKER CARLSON HATE AMERICAN FAMILIES?

Pete Buttigieg Brilliantly Destroys Tucker Carlson After Fox Host’s Homophobic Hit Job

Published

on

U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg responded to Fox News host Tucker Carlson‘s vile, homophobic attack from Thursday night, by defending the right of every new parent to take paternity or maternity leave and spend time building bonds that will last a lifetime.

Buttigieg, known for being able to incisively carve up conservative hate, had no problem correcting Carlson’s claims.

Carlson, who regularly spreads white nationalistic, white supremacist, and fascistic rhetoric that clearly is supported by Fox News chiefs Rupert Murdoch and Lachlan Murdoch, on Thursday berated Buttigieg for taking paternity leave as he and his husband, Chasten welcome two newborn twins into their family.

“Pete Buttigieg has been on leave from his job since August after adopting a child,” Carlson had told Fox news viewers. “Paternity leave, they call it, trying to figure out how to breastfeed – no word on how that went.”

Buttigieg struck back on Friday, telling MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace Carlson’s “attack is coming from a guy who has yet to explain his apparent approval for the assassination of Harvey Milk.”

Carlson, in his college yearbook, reportedly wrote that he was a member of the “Dan White Society.” There is no Dan White Society, but Dan White is the man who assassinated Harvey Milk, one of America’s first openly-gay elected officials. At the same time, in 1978, he also assassinated San Francisco Mayor George Moscone.

“So, you know, obviously we know that there’s some dark places where some of these attitudes come from,” Buttigieg continued.

“But I also note that that doesn’t speak for the country,” he said of Carlson’s homophobic and anti-family remark.

“I don’t think that even speaks for most people, on the other side of the aisle from the party that I belong to. This is largely a consensus issue, not just the support for families like mine to have a right to marry and right to be treated equally, but also that families in general. Moms and dads have to be able to support their children including with paid leave.”

Buttigieg, as NCRM reported Thursday night, is correct: 86% of Americans support paid paternity leave. And seven out of 10 Americans support same-sex marriage.  Sadly, U.S. federal law does not require companies to offer it, but as Wallace noted, Tucker Carlson’s employer does.
