Anti-Gay Activist Who Likens Gays To Necrophiliacs Is A School Teacher
Human Rights activists were aghast when Tanya Ditty, State Director for Georgia of the anti-gay hate group Concerned Women for America testified before the Georgia House of Representatives against HB 630, which would prohibit discrimination in the hiring of public employees, including public school employees, on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.
Ditty told the House of Representatives that the measure would open the floodgates for the hiring of necrophiliacs. Even more egregiously, Ditty in her testimony used CWfA’s long-discredited tactic of attempting to smear all gay people by insinuating that they are pedophiles. Additionally, (very obviously)Â nothing in the text of the proposed legislation requires schools to hire convicted pedophiles.
Here’s an excerpt of Tanya Ditty’s testimony:
“There are 23 sexual orientations that fit under this definition and if this bill became law, then what we would be protecting for public employees is not only heterosexuality, bisexuality, pedophilia, transsexuality, transvestitism, I’m not going to read them all. Voyeurism, exhibitionism, feetism, zoophilia, necrophilia, klismaphilia and the list goes on. I teach in the public school system and I wonder if this would impact the public school system. And we have parents who bring their kids to school every day and expect the school to protect them. And what’s going to protect our children if someone that is a pedophiliac comes in and gets a teaching job, is a bus driver, is a custodian, and they can be people that just want to prey on people and they will be protected with this law.”
That Ditty is being duplicitous in talking about necrophiliacs and pedophiles is manifest in her umpteen previous public statements reflective of a bullying and tyrannical, theocratic non-acceptance of gay human beings. Look, for example, at what she said in this interview:
Interviewer: What is your greatest concern?
Tanya Ditty: “There is a great concern with the radical homosexual agenda aimed at Georgia, especially in the middle schools where there is a rise in homosexual administrators and counselors. Counselors have a tremendous influence on students—they are sent to talk with them when a disaster occurs or when the students simply need to talk.”
Clearly, Tanya Ditty has a specific interest in intimidating gay human beings and  discriminating against them. Therefore, that she works for the Cobb County School District in Georgia heightens concerns related to her venomous anti-gay bigotry.
This reporter is actively seeking to interview victims of anti-gay bigotry in the Georgia public schools. Â Contact can be made via a private Facebook message here. Later reports on Ditty will include 1) an analysis of the written testimony she provided to the Georgia House of Representatives; 2) Interviews with the Georgia State Representatives who voted to “table” HB 630; these interviews will explore such issues as whether those elected officials think it is honorable to receive testimony against gay rights on the preposterously alleged grounds that gay rights legislation could result in necrophilia in public schools; 3) interviews with Cobb County public school officials regarding whether they create school environments consistently safe for LGBTers; and 4) reports on efforts to get HB 630 “off the table” and voted into law.
