Caleb Eigsti and David Badash At The 2013 GLAAD Awards
The cast and crew of The New Civil Rights Movement are delighted to announce the wedding of our Founder and Editor-in-Chief, David Badash. David will marry his partner of five years, Caleb Eigsti, who serves as our Content Development Director, Friday June 28. The couple will exchange vows in a private ceremony, in front of family and close friends, in Provincetown Massachusetts, where they became engaged almost exactly two years ago.
Little did David and Caleb realize in June of 2011, that the week of their wedding could also be the week the Supreme Court announces the fate of Marriage Equality. Though David and Caleb have officially taken a leave of absence for the week, The New Civil Rights Movement is committed to bringing you in-depth coverage of the Supreme Court’s decision, with commentary from our regular contributors and a number of in-the-know guest authors. Though the official plan is for David and Caleb to spend the week attending to wedding preperations, a check of the Las Vegas odds seem to favor a reappearance of David’s familiar by-line whenever the decision breaks.
David began The New Civil Rights Movement to champion the Marriage Equality Movement, and there is something very satisfying in knowing he and Caleb are now able to join in the (partial) victory he was so much a part of. David and Caleb will return to their regular roles soon, working as hard as ever to extend equal rights to the LGBT community.
I hope you will join us in wishing David and Caleb a lifetime of happiness.
