Nikolai Alekseyev, (also known as Nikolai Alekseev,) a leading Russian gay activist and Head of Moscow Pride Organizing Committee, who won a ground-breaking human rights decision against the mayor of Moscow at the European Court of Human Rights in October 2010, will speak at Columbia University in New York City, about the Russian LGBT movement.
Tanya Domi is also a frequent contributor to The New Civil Rights Movement, writing often about international LGBT issues. Prior to teaching at Columbia, Domi worked internationally for more than a decade on issues related to democratic transitional development, including political and media development, human rights, gender issues, sex trafficking, and media freedom.
