The L.A. Dodgers, the team that in 2000 removed a lesbian couple from the stadium for kissing, announced last week that they will hold their first ever LGBT Night. The event is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. Friday, September 27, when the team will play the Colorado Rockies. Executive Vice President Lon Rosen:
“We are especially proud to welcome and recognize the LGBT community of Los Angeles, an integral part of the city and of the Dodgers community.”
The press release for the event promises a celebrity first pitch, and the award winning Los Angeles Gay Men’s Choir backing up a celebrity singer for the National Anthem. Fans will be allowed onto the field after the game for fireworks set to the music of DJ Manny Lehman.
Tickets for LGBT Night are available on line using the promotional code “out”.
