Tweet Of The Day: Hillary Clinton Honors Sally Ride
Hillary Clinton just sent out a tweet honoring Dr. Sally Ride, who was a true leader on a great many fronts.
Today is Sally Ride‘s 64th birthday. Dr. Ride, who died in 2012, was the youngest American astronaut to travel into space, and also the first woman American astronaut to do so.Â
Ride, who was also a physicist, died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 61. With her business and life partner, Dr. Tam O’Shaughnessy, she co-founded Sally Ride Science, a company created to “inspire young people in STEM [science, technology, engineering, and math] and to promote STEM literacy.”
Hillary Clinton this afternoon sent out this tweet honoring Dr. Ride:
Today we celebrate Sally Ride—a pioneer who showed generations of girls that the sky is no longer the limit. pic.twitter.com/Hk3Ywz62lO

Google also is honoring Ride, with today’s Google Doodle, including a guest post by Dr. O’Shaughnessy, and this video:
