Trump Cuts Short Pence’s International Trip as President’s White Supremacy Remarks Collapse White House
Summons Pence to Camp David • VP: ‘I Stand With the President’
Vice President Mike Pence will have to cut short his international trip to Central and South America amid yet another Trump self-inflicted crisis. President Donald Trump has ordered the vice president to return to the U.S. Thursday. The two will travel together to Camp David on Friday, according to reports.
The White House is calling the Camp David trip a national security meeting to “discuss the South Asia strategy,” AP White House reporter Jonathan Lemire says.
After Trump’s disastrous press event Tuesday during which he again blamed “both sides” for Saturday’s violence and said the “alt-left,” something that does not exist, was also to blame, the vice president said he stands with the president.

“We prepare to end our trip a little bit early tomorrow in Panama,” Pence told reporters Wednesday in Chile. “I will return home tomorrow.”Â
“I spoke at length about this heartbreaking situation on Sunday night in Colombia and I stand with the president and I stand by those words,” Pence announced.
Earlier Wednesday afternoon Trump was forced to disband two CEO councils after members began leaving and discussing dissolving the groups themselves.
Some responses via Twitter:
If Bannon, Miller and Gorka aren’t out by Friday, Congress must impeach and remove Trump. If Pence hires any Alt Right staff he goes too.

Lest you had any doubt that Pence supports Trump’s views… https://t.co/6wFI5452fb

Pence’s strategy is readable from a hundred miles away: Don’t piss off Trump’s base. Don’t ever undercut him. Be a loyal solider. Take over. https://t.co/IUgQm5Vv90

Two possibilities: One is that Pence is getting an incredibly hostile reception abroad. The other is that something is in the works here.

Remember: Mike Pence stands w a man who comforts racists and anti-Semites. He is not normal either. This is a rotten WH through & through. https://t.co/cG4oPNAAuA

History will remember those who used their power to stand up to Trump’s hatred. Pence isn’t one of them. Pence and Trump, one and the same. https://t.co/I6NCzaK5hd
