Senate Intel Committee to Mike Flynn: No Immunity
‘Not on the Table’ for Now
Fired Trump National Security Advisor Michael T. Flynn is not getting immunity from prosecution in exchange for his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee. NBC News reports the Committee has turned down the request from Flynn’s attorney.
Citing a “senior congressional official with direct knowledge,” NBC News report “Flynn’s lawyer was told it was ‘wildly preliminary’ and that immunity was ‘not on the table’ at the moment. A second source said the committee communicated that it is ‘not receptive’ to Flynn’s request ‘at this time.'”

Flynn’s attorney, as first reported Thursday by The Wall Street Journal, said the former high level Trump campaign and administration official “certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it.”
Many believe the retired General, who was also fired by the Obama administration, may have ties to Russia. They cite a $45,000 speech he delivered at a Russia propaganda network dinner, where he sat next to Vladimir Putin. Green Party former presidential nominee Jill Stein was also at the same table.
Others since the news came that Flynn was shopping around for an immunity deal cite his own statement from last year:Â “When you are given immunity, that means that you have probably committed a crime.”

While that’s not true, it’s certainly ironic.Â
