‘Blood Soaked Hands’: Outrage at Gov. Greg Abbott Over His Years of Promoting NRA and Guns After TX Mass Shooting
Abbott Said He Was ‘EMBARRASSED’ California Beat Texas in New Gun Sales
Does Texas massacre change Governor Greg Abbott’s perspective on gun control? Here’s his reply: https://t.co/jnenxnmDT2

Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott is being accused of having “blood soaked hands” over his years of actively promoting the NRA and guns, in the wake of the deadliest mass shooting in a house of worship and the deadliest mass shooting in modern-day Texas. 26 parishioners – half of them children – were shot to death in a small town Texas church.
Notably, two years ago, almost to the day, Gov. Abbott posted a tweet scolding his fellow Texans for allowing the nation’s most-populous state, California, for beating the Lone Star state in number of new guns purchased in 2015, saying he was “embarrassed.”
I’m EMBARRASSED: Texas #2 in nation for new gun purchases, behind CALIFORNIA. Let’s pick up the pace Texans. @NRA https://t.co/Ry2GInbS1g

Earlier this year Gov. Abbott literally defined Texas by its guns and open-carry and concealed-carry gun laws:
You know you’re in Texas when you see signs like this. @NRA #Guns #txlege pic.twitter.com/2ZEbY4NXhE
— Greg Abbott (@GregAbbott_TX) April 3, 2017
He bragged that he expanded open carry:
Obama said nation has been ‘inactive’ on gun legislation. WRONG. Texas EXPANDED gun rights with Open Carry @NRA #guns http://t.co/tchYnQ8iAB
— Greg Abbott (@GregAbbott_TX) October 6, 2015
And equated guns with “freedom”:
Texas barbecue joint gives discount for carrying a gun. Freedom with a side of brisket. #tcot @NRA #PJNET https://t.co/3oGaSsqiLv

Since Sunday’s horrific massacre many have posted their outrage at Governor Abbott, saying he has blood on his hands:
