What DeSantis Volunteers in Iowa Said When Asked if They’d Vote for Trump in November

Just days before the “First in the Nation” Iowa Republican Caucuses, two volunteers for the struggling DeSantis campaign were asked if they would vote for Donald Trump in the general election if he becomes the GOP’s presidential nominee.

“Absolutely not,” one volunteer who voted for Trump twice told CBS News (video below). “In 2020 I was very enthusiastic because of the choice we were facing, but I will not be voting for Donald Trump.”

“A lot’s changed,” the man said after a long sigh. “The way that he’s handled himself post-election, after he lost the election, and January 6, and the other stuff that he’s been involved with. I  just can’t abide it.”

Another DeSantis volunteer added, “Especially since January 6, and when he lost the election, it’s become all about Donald Trump. He’s no longer trying to make America great again. He’s trying to make himself great again.”

Praising DeSantis’ “chief executive skills” and calling him a “providential figure,” the DeSantis volunteer added, “I mean, it’s like we’re being handed a gift on a silver platter. Basically, you’re asking me, am I willing to vote for a guy who’s likely to be a convicted felon?”
