GOP Sen. Perdue in Quarantine with Days Until Georgia Runoff Election

Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) revealed Thursday that he will self-quarantine after coming into close contact with someone who recently tested positive for COVID-19. Perdue said his test result came back negative.

The quarantine comes at a time when the stakes couldn’t be higher. Perdue faces a runoff election next week against Democrat Jon Ossoff. Perdue. Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) is also preparing for a runoff against Democrat Rev. Raphael Warnock.

The Jan. 5 Georgia runoff elections will ultimately determine which party controls the U.S. Senate.
