Several people have been shot at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, California, as the LA County Sheriffs’ Office and NBC News reports.
A suspect was spotted running away, through a nearby baseball field, and remains at large.
Reports say “multiple victims down,” but how many and their condition remains unknown at present.
UPDATE: 11:48 AM ET –
MSNBC reports the suspect is 15-years old, and law enforcement are still searching for him. Deputies reportedly are searching a neighborhood near the field, with guns drawn, and may have an idea of where the alleged shooter is.
MSNBC’s Pete Williams says the suspect is “no longer a threat,” and “it does not appear there were any fatalities” at the school.
UPDATE: 12:25 PM ET –
Pete Williams reports the suspect is “dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
UPDATE: 12:45 PM ET –
Pete Williams now reports the student is alive, shot himself, but survived and is being treated at a local hospital.
