Vindman Smacks Down Jim Jordan’s Attempt to Discredit Him by Reading From His Last Review: ‘Top 1% Military Officer’

U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) tried to discredit Lt. Colonel Alexander Vindman during his testimony in the House Intelligence Committee’s impeachment inquiry Tuesday. Lt. Col. Vindman is the White House’s Ukraine Expert, who officially serves as the Director for European Affairs for the National Security Council.

Jordan tried to suggest Vindman is a leaker and his supervisors had questioned his judgment.

Vindman was prepared, and responded by reading from his latest review, from July.

“Your boss had concerns about your judgment, your former boss, Dr. Hill, had concerns about your judgment, your colleagues had concerns about your judgment, and your colleagues felt there were times when you leaked information,” Jordan accused. “Any idea why they have those impressions?”

Vindman, reading his review written by Dr. Fiona Hill: “Alex is a top one-percent military officer and the best Army officer I have worked with in my 15 years of government service.”

“He’s brilliant, unflappable and exercises excellent judgment,” Vindman read, looking up at Rep. Jordan, as he read “excellent judgment.”

Jordan tried to interrupt, but Vindman would not let him.

“I’m sorry,” Vindman said, suggesting he was not finished. He continued reading.

“And Colonel, you never leaked information?” Jordan pressed.

“I never did. I never would. That is preposterous that I would do that,” Vindman replied.
