Mark Sandy, a former acting director of the White House’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) testified to Congress that two career OMB officials quit in response to President Donald Trump’s hold up of nearly $400 million in military aid to Ukraine.
“One of the officials was in OMB’s legal division and feared the intervention might have violated the law,” an early release of a Washington Post report reads.
Sandy, who now serves as the Deputy Associate Director for National Security Programs, is the first OMB official to testify.
The Post adds that his “testimony is the first public confirmation that the dispute at the OMB over handling of the Ukraine aid became so intense that it contributed to resignations from the agency.”
