Turkey Just Bombed US Special Forces ‘Apparently by Mistake’: Report

Turkey has just bombed U.S. Special Forces who were “caught up in Turkish shelling against U.S.-backed Kurdish positions in northern Syria,” Newsweek just reported in a breaking exclusive that notes the action was taken “apparently by mistake.”

The number of troops affected are between 15 and 100. It is not known if there are any casualties.

There has been bipartisan condemnation against President Donald Trump’s unilateral decision to withdraw U.S. forces from Northern Syria, opening the door for Turkish dictator Recep Erdogan to commit genocide against the Kurds, who are U.S. allies. The Kurds are largely credited with fighting the war against ISIS, and reportedly have lost around 11,000 people as a result.

A ” senior Pentagon official said that Turkish forces should be aware of U.S. positions ‘down to the grid,'” so it’s unclear how the shelling was allowed to occur.

Trump promised, after receiving widespread condemnation, that he would go after Erdogan if anything went wrong.
