Pelosi Cuts Short Meeting With ‘Shaken’ Trump After He Had a ‘Meltdown’
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi says she was forced to cut short a scheduled meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House after he appeared to be “shaken up” following his massive loss on a House vote condemning his withdrawal of troops from Northern Syria.
“He was shaken up by it,” Pelosi said of the House’s overwhelming vote. “And that’s why we couldn’t continue in the meeting, because he was just not relating to the reality of it,” the Speaker added.
“This was not a dialogue, this was sort of a diatribe,” said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, standing with the Speaker and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, “not focused on the facts, particularly on the fact of how to curtail ISIS, a terrorist organization.”
Schumer suggested Trump likened them to them communist sympathizers.
The vote to condemn Trump’s pullout was 354-60.
