Bolton Blasted Trump’s Ukraine Extortion: ‘I Am Not Part of Whatever Drug Deal Rudy and Mulvaney Are Cooking Up’

Published

on

Three months ago then-National Security Advisor John Bolton warned administration insiders he would have no part of President Donald Trump’s off-the-books shadow government Ukraine extortion scandal. Bolton also apparently implicated both the president’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, and the president’s acting chief of staff, Mick Mulvany.

“I am not part of whatever drug deal Rudy and Mulvaney are cooking up,” Bolton told senior director for Russian and Eurasian affairs Fiona Hill to tell White House lawyers, The New York Times reports in a bombshell article late Monday night.

Bolton, who resigned from the Trump administration hours before President Trump tweeted he had fired him, instructed Hill “to notify the chief lawyer for the National Security Council that Mr. Giuliani was working with Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff, on a rogue operation with legal implications,” Hill told House of Representatives investigators on Monday.

Not one to shy away from confrontation himself, Bolton also called Giuliani, who is now reportedly under criminal investigation,  “a hand grenade who’s going to blow everybody up.”

Sondland: ‘Giuliani’s Requests Were a Quid Pro Quo’ and He Was ‘Expressing the Desires of the President’

Published

United States Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland delivered blockbuster testimony Wednesday morning directly charging President Donald Trump and his personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, directed a “quid pro quo” scheme to extort Ukraine.

“Giuliani’s requests were a quid pro quo for arranging a White House visit for President Zelensky,” Sondland testified before the House Intelligence Committee, saying that he worked on the Ukraine scheme at the “express direction of the president of the United States.”

He added: “Mr. Giuliani was expressing the desires of the President of the United States, and we knew that these investigations were important to the President.”

Feds Now Probing Giuliani’s Links to Ukrainian Natural Gas Projects – and if He Profited From Them

Rudy Giuliani at a campaign stop

Federal investigators are now probing the ties of the President’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, into Ukrainian energy projects, and if he stood to gain financially in a business venture headed by his two “henchmen” who are now in jail.

The two associates infamously aided Giuliani’s efforts in Ukraine to launch investigations into Joe Biden and Hunter Biden in an attempt to assist President Donald Trump’s re-election efforts, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman “pitched their new company, and plans for a Poland-to-Ukraine pipeline carrying U.S. natural gas, in meetings with Ukrainian officials and energy executives this year.”

This is the latest federal investigation launched into Giuliani’s dealings.

Federal authorities are also conducting a criminal investigation into the relationship between Giuliani and his two Ukrainian-born “henchmen” arrested last month night fleeing the country with one-way tickets to Vienna. Giuliani was scheduled to travel to Vienna also hours later, until the arrests.

Giuliani’s financial dealings with those same two associates who were indicted on campaign finance-related charges are under scrutiny by investigators as well.

‘The House Is on Fire’: MSNBC’s Joy Reid Drops a Truth Bomb on Democrats for Not Going After Trump

Published

on

On Saturday’s edition of “AM Joy,” MSNBC host Joy Reid took Democrats to task for failing to see the big picture at the latest round of Democratic debates, getting bogged down in policy details that voters don’t care about — and not going after the failures of President Donald Trump.

“So let’s get back to Barack Obama for a moment,” said Reid. “Yes, We Can … was not a policy speech. It was a leadership speech. You remember the money line but I doubt you remember many of the details of Obama’s health care plan, other than it would be universal, ensure universal coverage, fulfill a hundred years of Democratic dreams and goals. Barack Obama did not get elected because of the detail of his health care plan. I worked on that campaign. Trust me, nobody in Florida who I talked to — and talking about Obama was literally my job — asked about the details.”

“Obviously speeches is where you define yourself, and at debates you’re stuck with what you get, just a few minutes to talk about much as you can are very, very different things,” said Reid. “The formula for how presidents get elected is the same. Tell us what the other party has done wrong and how you’ll fix it. That’s especially true when you’re running against an incumbent president. Americans elect people that they want to be led by.”

“Now, Democrats, and I mean this as tough love, fighting with each other about the details of your health care plans is not going to help you beat Donald Trump,” said Reid. “Mayor Pete [Buttigieg] is right that Trump and his party are going to call all of your health care bills socialism, they’re going to call all of you ‘open-borders communists.’ Keep your eyes on the job.”

“The house is on fire,” she added. “Tell us what this president has done to set this house on fire, and how you are going to put it out. When the house is on fire, you don’t discuss what kind of begonias you’re going to plant in the window sill because the house is on fire.”
