Bill Barr’s DOJ Opens Criminal Investigation Into Mueller Probe: Report

The New York Times has just published a bombshell report: The Dept. of Justice has opened a criminal investigation into the Mueller investigation.

“Justice Department officials have shifted an administrative review of the Russia investigation closely overseen by Attorney General William P. Barr to a criminal inquiry, according to two people familiar with the matter,” The Times reports. “The move gives the prosecutor running it, John H. Durham, the power to subpoena for witness testimony and documents, to impanel a grand jury and to file criminal charges.”

The move is consistent with Attorney General Barr’s repeated acts pf protecting President Donald Trump, including traveling overseas to work with foreign governments in an unprecedented effort to turn an nternal review of the Mueller probe into what is now a criminal investigation.

UPDATE: 8:55 PM –
In early October the Wall Street Journal published this report, the subject of which appears to be the basis for tonight’s decision: “Barr’s Requests for Foreign Help Prompt Backlash in Australia, Italy, U.K.”
