Trump Told Top Kremlin Officials He Didn’t Care Russia Attacked US Election in Now-Infamous Oval Office Meeting

President Donald Trump told top Russian officials that he did not care the Kremlin attacked U.S. elections in 2016, the same election that put him in the White House. Trump made these remarks during a now-infamous 2017 Oval Office meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
The Washington Post reports Trump told the Russians he did not care because the U.S. meddled in other countries’ elections.
During that same meeting Trump told the top Russian officials his having fired FBI Director Jim Comey just one day earlier relieved him of “great pressure.”
The President also revealed code-word highly classified intelligence to the Russians that exposed Israeli operatives.
The Post, reporting the President’s remarks, notes they have not been previously reported, and reveals like the Ukraine telephone transcript, Trump’s comments were hidden in a top secret National Security Council server.
“A memorandum summarizing the meeting was limited to all but a few officials with the highest security clearances in an attempt to keep the president’s comments from being disclosed publicly, according to the former officials, who requested anonymity to discuss sensitive matters.”
