Read the Ukraine Call Talking Points the White House Sent to GOP Lawmakers – and House Democrats by Mistake

The White House released its summary of the July 25 telephone call President Donald Trump had with the president of Ukraine. It was just five pages, but damning all the same. Experts say it doesn’t matter if it shows “quid pro quo” – an offer of Trump promising something of value in exchange for President Zelensky’s assistance.

However, it does.

Regardless, the White House sent talking points to Republican lawmakers and (presumably) the president’s surrogates.

CNN’s Jim Acosta reports the White House sent those talking points (which are spin, and not true or accurate) to House Democrats as well.

For example: “The transcript clearly shows there was no quid pro quo,” the White House claims.

That’s false.

“The real scandal here is that leaks about a second-hand account of the confidential telephone call with a foreign leader triggered a media frenzy of false accusations against the President and forced the President to release the transcript.”

That’s false also. In fact, had the White House not illegally blocked the Director of National Intelligence from handing the whistleblower complaint over to Congress this would not have happened.
