Giuliani: Ukraine Call Transcript ‘Was Read to Me’

President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, not a federal government official, says he has been read the transcript of the now-infamous telephone call between Trump and the president of Ukraine.

That call is part of a whistleblower’s “credible” and “urgent” complaint that is believed to say President Donald Trump used about $400 million in military aid as a bargaining chip to strong-arm Ukraine’s president into digging up dirt on his chief political opponent, Joe Biden, and his son, Hunter Biden. That is an impeachable offense and likely criminal.

The transcript, which is not an actual verbatim record of the call but rather likely a compilation of aides’ notes taken during the call, has not been released publicly.

The Trump White House says it will release the “transcript” today, but Americans should not expect it to be full or credible, given the administration’s history of altering and editing official government documents.

Some on social media are noting that a non-government employee, someone without high-level clearance could have been read the transcript is astonishing.
