Trump Loots Millions From FEMA to Send Migrants Back to Mexico – Just as Hurricane Season Starts

Published

on

The Trump administration is taking millions of dollars from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Disaster Relief Fund and rerouting the monies to strengthen its migrant operations and build more temporary hearing locations for asylum-seekers in Mexico, literally hours before a hurricane is expected to hit land in Puerto Rico, and later, in Florida.

$271 million will be pulled from the Dept. of Homeland Security, including $155 million directly from FEMA’s operations, CNN adds, “to support its policy of returning some migrants to Mexico.”

“Combined with existing space, the funding would allow ICE to detain nearly 50,000 immigrants at one time,” NBC News reports. “ICE would gain $155 million, all from FEMA’s Disaster Relief Fund.”

Homeland Security “will lose $116 million previously allocated for Coast Guard operations, aviation security and other components in order to fund nearly 6,800 more beds for immigrant detainees,”

Earlier Tuesday afternoon President Trump tweeted an attempt to deny Puerto Rico emergency funds while blaming the U.S territory for sitting in the path of tropical storms and hurricanes and lying about funding he claimed they have already received.

2975 people in Puerto Rico died during and after 2017’s Hurricane Maria, thanks in part to the Trump administration’s botched operations and lack of concern.

Trump’s Fabricated China Phone Call Is ‘A Serious Escalation of His Lying’ Which Bodes Ill for America: Reporter

Published

on

On Monday, President Donald Trump was once again busted in a lie after claiming the government of China called him and asked to restart talks over his disastrous trade war.

But this seems more egregious than a typical Trump lie, wrote CNN contributor Garrett Graff — as an attempt to mislead world powers about the state of international diplomacy, it could have serious consequences for America’s ability to conduct discussions of any sort, especially in an international crisis situation:

Trump’s tariff hikes on Chinese goods in 2018 alone cost consumers $32 billion, threatening jobs and economic activity across the country. But there is no sign China is interested in negotiating for a deal to end the standoff.

Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has suggested that China doesn’t even need to negotiate with the United States — they may decide to just step back, let Trump’s tariffs ruin his own economy, and negotiate with the next administration when people vote Trump out over the losses.

Former Dem Senator Hilariously Nails Perfect Impression of ‘Pouting’ Trump at G7 Because Nobody ‘Likes Him’ There

Published

During the “Overtime” segment of HBO’s Real Time, former North Dakota Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D) made fun of Donald Trump before he arrived at the G7 summit in France, saying he will pout his way through the weekend because the other world leaders loathe him.

With host Bill Maher asking how the Trump will conduct himself, Heitkamp immediately went into a very recognizable arms-crossed pout, which caused the audience to burst into laughter.

After the two posed as Trump and German leader Angela Merkel from the last get together, Heitkamp had a few things to say about the president.

“Pouting, the president will pout,” she smirked. “Because people don’t like him. and he knows they don’t like him. And when people don’t like him, he pouts.”

“It’s embarrassing, it’s not just ridiculous,” she added. “And it’s dangerous, it’s dangerous with everything that is going on.”

Host Maher added, “He shouldn’t even go, he doesn’t even want to be there.”

Trump’s Economic Advisers Baffled Over How to Hold Off Recession His Trade War Set in Motion

Published

on

According to a report from ABC, Donald Trump’s economic advisers are baffled about how to stop what appears to be a recession coming before the 2020 election after his trade war upset an already teetering worldwide economy.

With the report noting that Trump had hoped to run on a strong economy as part of his 2020 re-election strategy, warnings from economists that a recession may arrive before then has White House officials in a panic.

“The financial markets signaled the possibility of a U.S. recession this week, sending a jolt of anxiety to investors, companies and consumers. That’s on top of concerns over Trump’s plans to impose punishing tariffs on goods from China and word from the United Kingdom and Germany that their economies are shrinking,” the report states, adding, “Trump advisers fear a weakened economy would hurt him with moderate Republican and independent voters who have been willing to give him a pass on some his incendiary policies and rhetoric.”

Bedeviling the president’s advisors is a lack of ideas about how to halt the slide into a re-election-killing economy.

“White House economic advisers see few options for reversing course should the economy start to slip,” te report stares before saying the president, for the money, is looking to spread blame elsewhere.

“Trump has taken to blaming others for the recession fears, mostly the Federal Reserve, which he is pushing for further interest rate cuts. Yet much of the uncertainty in the markets stems from his own escalation of a trade war with China, as well as weakened economies in key countries around the world,” ABC reports. “Aides acknowledge it is unclear what steps the White House could take to stop a downturn. Trump’s 2017 tax cut proved so politically unpopular that many Republicans ran away from it during last year’s midterms. And a new stimulus spending program could spark intraparty fighting over big deficits.”

Trump attempted to lower expectations about his performance during a MAGArally in New Hampshire this week, telling his fans, “”You have no choice but to vote for me because your 401(k), everything is going to be down the tubes. Whether you love me or hate me, you’ve got to vote for me.”
