Beto O’Rourke Gets Tons of Praise After Comparing Trump to ‘Nazi Germany’ and Saying ‘Jesus Christ, of Course He’s Racist’

Published

on

Many are praising Democratic 2020 presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke who, in an emotional state after the domestic terror massacre in his former congressional district of El Paso was asked an inane question by a reporter, and let loose, blasting the U.S. news media. Unrelenting, O’Rourke Monday morning then blasted the Trump administration, comparing it to Hitler’s Nazi Germany.

“Members of the press, what the fuck?” the former Texas Congressman replied Saturday when a reporter asked him, “is there anything in your mind the president can do to make things better?” (Audio here, video below.)

O’Rourke had reportedly just come from an El Paso hospital and seen the carnage.

“What do you think?” O’Rourke first replied, angrily. “You know the shit [Trump’s] been saying. He’s been calling Mexican immigrants rapists and criminals. I don’t know, like, members of the press, what the fuck?”

“It’s these questions that you know the answers to,” he continued. “I mean, connect the dots about what he’s been doing in this country. He’s not tolerating racism, he’s promoting racism. He’s not tolerating violence, he’s inciting racism and violence in this country. So, um, you know, I just— I don’t know what kind of question that is.”

Monday morning on MSNBC O’Rourke also did not hold back.

“The president has not been shy, he’s not been saying this behind closed doors,” O’Rourke told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” crew. “All people of one religion, inherently defective and should be banned from the shores of this country,” he said, referring to Trump’s infamous Muslim ban.

“The only modern Western democracy that I can think of that has said anything close to this is the Third Reich, Nazi German. Talking about human beings as though they are animals, making them sub-human, to make it OK to put their kids in cages. We’ve lost seven children in our custody over the last year in this, the wealthiest, the most powerful country on the face of the planet.”

“Saying that he wants more immigrants like those from Nordic countries, the whitest places on the face of the planet. This president, his open racism is also an invitation to violence. We’ve seen a rise in hate crimes, every single one of the last three years.”

O’Rourke again then blasted the media.

“Anyone who is surprised is part of this problem right now, including members of the media who ask, ‘Hey Beto, do you think the President is racist?’ Well Jesus Christ, of course he’s racist. He’s been racist since day one.”

Texas Senator Says More Uvalde Cops Need To Face Criminal Charges Over Shooting

After two Uvalde cops were charged over their botched response to the mass shooting at Robb Elementary, a Texas state senator says more officers should be charged.

Former Police Chief Pete Arredondo and then-officer Adrian Gonzalez were charged on felony counts of child endangerment, according to the San Antonio Express-News. The May 24, 2022 shooting was Texas’ worst; 19 children and two teachers were killed.

Uvalde cops were criticised for not stopping the shooting earlier, particularly when camera footage was released showing officers standing in a hallway while the shooting continued.

Democratic Texas State Senator Roland Gutierrez  said that the charges against Arredondo and Gonzalez were not enough. Gutierrez represents District 19, which includes Uvalde.

“If they’re going to indict those two officers, they need to indict the 13 DPS troopers in that hallway,” Gutierrez told the Express-News. “That’s very disturbing to me.”

Almost 400 law enforcement officers had responded to the shooting, the Express-News reported, including 28 officers from the Uvalde PD.

During the shooting, Arredondo and Gonzales were among the first officers to enter the building in the first few minutes of the incident. The incident started at 11:29 a.m., when the shooter crashed near a funeral home, fired on the employees, then entered onto the school campus, according to the official timeline from the Uvalde Police’s internal investigation.

At 11:30, police were dispatched; the shooter entered the building at 11:33 and started firing. At 11:35, four officers, including Gonzalez and Arredondo, entered the building. Approximately a minute later, officers opened the unlocked door to the classroom, and were fired upon and injured. At 11:38 a.m., Arredondo ordered the officers to retreat.

At 11:55 a.m., as the shooting continued, Arredondo ordered police to clear the rooms surrounding the classrooms and start to negotiate with the shooter. Police finally entered the classroom nearly an hour later, at 12:50 p.m., and took down the shooter. During this wait, Arredondo was waiting for someone to bring him keys to the door, mistakenly thinking the classroom was locked.

Police inaction during a school shooting is sadly not uncommon. In 2018, former officer Scot Peterson was acquitted for not acting to stop the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Footage showed Peterson was on the scene, but was standing outside the building as the shooting continued.

A federal judge also dismissed a lawsuit against Broward County officials including the sheriff for not protecting the students at the school. The judge ruled that though the 14th Amendment requires police to protect those in custody, there is no police duty to protect people not in custody, according to CNN.

In that shooting, 14 students and three teachers were killed; another 17 victims were wounded.

If Democrats Don’t Pass Voting Rights They’ll Lose in 2022 and Biden Will Be Impeached: Prof. Jason Johnson

Published

on

Dr. Jason Johnson, professor at Morgan State University, dropped a truth-bomb on Democrats during his appearance with MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace on Tuesday. According to him, there is no other bill than voting rights, because, without it, the GOP voter suppression laws will ensure Democrats lose.

While the panel debated the importance of the voting rights bill and whether Democrats will fight for it, Johnson explained that it’s the only issue that Democrats should focus on.

“These changes are the main legislative issue,” Bulwark columnist Tim Miller explained. “It’s what the Koch Brothers and others are pushing in a lot of these state legislatures. Something has to be done. Here’s my issue from a strategic standpoint, though. The best thing that the Democrats can do to guarantee the next election isn’t stolen, is to do well in 2022.”

He went on to argue that Democrats should push something popular that everyone can get behind and that they’d win in 2022 as a result of that. But Johnson, shaking his head, disagreed.

“Tim! Everybody already knows what the Republicans are!” said Johnson. “They literally led a march to the Capitol, and not the Civil Rights kind, like, a couple of months ago. Everybody knows what the Republican Party is there’s nothing in exposing them anymore. And quite frankly, if they don’t make this the number one priority you can’t wait until the 2022 elections. Because if these laws stay on the books in 2022, Democrats will lose the House and the Senate and they will impeach Joe Biden in February of 2023. I promise you! That’s what the Republicans will do!”

‘It Makes Us Look Like Idiots’: Arizona Republican Admits He Was Wrong to Support ‘Ridiculous’ Vote Audit

Published

on

A Republican state senator from Arizona is now admitting it was a mistake to back Trump supporters’ so-called “vote audit” that has devolved into a total circus.

In an interview with the New York Times, Arizona State Sen. Paul Boyer said that he was embarrassed to have ever supported the audit.

“It makes us look like idiots,” he told the Times. “Looking back, I didn’t think it would be this ridiculous. It’s embarrassing to be a state senator at this point.”

The Arizona audit, which is taking place with Trump’s enthusiastic support, is being conducted by partisan operatives, including one man who participated in the January 6th MAGA riots at the United States Capitol building.

The audit has drawn widespread ridicule, even from many Republicans, after it was revealed that auditors are searching for traces of bamboo in the ballots, which they claim would be evidence of Chinese tampering in the 2020 election.
