President Donald Trump basked in the 13 seconds of glory his days-long attacks on four progressive Democratic Congresswomen earned him: a penultimate fascistic racist screed, chants of “Send her back! Send her back!” from his supporters Wednesday at a campaign re-election rally some compared to Nuremberg.
After watching massive coverage and massive outrage – and even mild rebukes from a few members of his own party, Trump sat in the Oval Office, next to young Special Olympic athletes, and lied to reporters on Thursday.
“I was not happy with it — I disagree with it,” Trump claimed, video evidence to the contrary.
“I felt a little bit badly about it,” he insisted, video evidence to the contrary.
When a reporters asked, “Why didn’t you ask your fans to stop chanting ‘send her back’? He lied.
“Number one, I think I did. I started speaking very quickly.”

And now, Friday morning, day six of his racist, nativist assaults on the Democratic Congresswomen, Trump is changing gears, narrowing the field, and lashing out at the media for doing its job of reporting the news.
The President launched into an angry screed, six tweets so far, blasting the media, because it’s a day that ends in “y.”
“It is amazing how the Fake News Media became ‘crazed’ over the chant ‘send her back’ by a packed Arena (a record) crowd in the Great State of North Carolina, but is totally calm & accepting of the most vile and disgusting statements made by the three Radical Left Congresswomen,” he tweeted, breathlessly.
The arena, for the record, holds 8000, so it’s unclear what “record” he thinks he’s set.
And it’s unclear why he’s now limited his anger to “three Radical Left Congresswomen,” when it’s been four all week.
He then falsely claims the “Mainstream Media” has “either officially or unofficially become a part of the Radical Left Democrat Party,” which is ironic as there seems to be a revolving door between Fox News and the Trump White House.
And he lashed out at the constituents of “Foul Mouthed” Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, who greeted her with signs and cheers as if she were a conquering hero as she returned home to Minnesota Thursday.
The rest of that thread is more blah-blah-blah.
So let’s be clear as to what’s happening in America today.
Our fascistic president is now attacking the people’s duly-elected representatives with lies and vile accusations – including a gross and wholly unsubstantiated rumor about Congresswoman Omar, which he labeled “fact.”
He is demonizing women of color, some of the first women of color from their home states.
He is lathering up his base so much that they now are launching their own fascistic, racist, and nativist attacks. One fascism expert this week called it “the face of evil,” and warned “we are facing an emergency.”
And the leaders among the Republican Party are refusing to stop him.
Where does this end? How does this end?
I think we all know.
