Federal Investigative Agency: Kellyanne Conway Should Be ‘Removed’ From Government Job
The United States Office of Special Counsel (OSC) has filed a report with the Executive Office of the President (EOP) after completing an investigation into Kellyanne Conway‘s actions and has determined she should be removed from her job as Senior Advisor to the President for repeated violations of the Hatch Act.
“Given that Ms. Conway is a repeat offender and has shown disregard for the law, OSC recommends that she be removed from federal service,” the Office of Special Counsel said in a statement, as Reuters reports.
In 2017 and 2018 Conway was also found to have violated ethics rules, but the White House refused to remove her or apply any remedial efforts.
And in 2017, the Office of Government Ethics recommended Conway be disciplined after she went on-air in the White House press briefing room, telling Fox News viewers to buy merchandise from Ivanka Trump’s troubled clothing line. When the President refused, the OGE issued a strongly-worded disagreement, after stating “disciplinary action” was “warranted.”
“Go buy Ivanka’s stuff, is what I would tell you,” Conway had told “Fox & Friends” viewers. She specifically noted that she was giving the president’s daughter a “free commercial.”
Experts at the time described Conway’s remarks as “jaw-dropping” and a “clear violation” of ethics rules.
