Trump Appeals Federal Judge’s Ruling That Smacked Down His Attempt to Block Release of Financial Records

President Donald Trump’s personal attorneys are appealing a federal judge’s Monday evening ruling that strongly rejected their arguments to block the release of Trump’s financial records. The judge ordered the president’s accounting firm, Mazars USA, to hand over the documents as requested in a subpoena from the House Oversight Committee.

The records release subpoena covers not only President Trump’s personal financial records, but those of his company, The Trump Organization, a Trump trust fund, and the Trump Old Post Office, which is Trump’s D.C. hotel (photo) that some constitutional experts say acts as a cash funnel in violation of the Emoluments Clause.

Trump on Monday called ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Amit Mehta “crazy.”
