WATCH: Mueller’s Full Speech

Special Counsel Robert Mueller will address the American people at 11 AM today (video below).

The specific details of his remarks are not yet known.

“Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III will make a statement on the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential election,” the Dept.of Justice announced. “This will be a statement only, no question and answer period to follow.”

The White House claims it was not “caught off guard,” MSNBC reports.

Mueller has never personally addressed the public since becoming Special Counsel.

Given that Mueller’s remarks were announced by the DOJ and the White House says it was aware of them, it’s unlikely there will be any bombshells that negatively portray the President.

UPDATE: 9:54 AM ET –
MSNBC legal analyst Ari Melber just confirmed that “this is a Justice Dept. statement,” and not an independent statement from the Special Counsel.
