Mueller Testimony Talks Tank After Special Counsel Says He Doesn’t Want It All Televised

Talks between House Democrats and Robert Mueller have stalled after the Special Counsel said he does not want to appear political or have his full testimony televised.

Negotiations with the special counsel’s office and the House Judiciary Committee are now at an “impasse,” The Washington Post reports, with both parties “unable to reach an agreement on how much of the special counsel’s expected congressional testimony would be public, and how much would take place in private.”

Mueller does not want anything beyond the contents of his 448-page report to be televised, but Democrats are eager to get Mueller on the record – and on video – about critical issues including if he would have charged President Donald Trump with obstruction if he were not a sitting president.

CNN adds that the “special counsel’s team has expressed the notion that Mueller does not want to appear political.”
