Trump’s Hand-Picked Attorney General Is Launching an Investigation Into the Mueller Investigation
The Attorney General of the United States in stunning open Senate testimony Wednesday morning declared the FBI had spied on the Trump campaign. He added he was not suggesting it was or was not warranted.
“I think spying did occur” by the FBI on the Trump campaign, Barr, who is Trump’s hand-picked Attorney General, told Senators, “but the question is whether it was adequately predicated.”
U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) appeared stunned, especially given Barr’s choice of words.
“There was a counterintelligence investigation,” MSNBC legal analyst Maya Wiley explained minutes later.
As most Americans know, a tremendous number of Trump campaign officials and associates, and those with ties to then-candidate Donald Trump, were in direct contact with Russian nationals or Russian officials before and then immediately after the 2016 election, causing the FBI great concern.
