“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they call you racist.”
President Donald Trump’s official schedule after 1:35 PM Tuesday was empty so perhaps it’s not surprising he had time to post a campaign re-election video at 4:43 in the afternoon when everyone else was working at their day jobs.
But that’s not the strange part.
The video itself is insane.
It features former President Barack Obama, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton – Trump’s Democratic opponent in the 2016 election. Also featured are totalitarian strongmen Kin Jong-un of North Korea and Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil – along with Rosie O’Donnell, who Trump mocked during the first Fox News presidential primary debate, and others. There’s also a closeup of a pack of golden $100 bills for some reason.
Perhaps even stranger still: The “movie” begins with clips of famous D.C. landmarks, and the words, “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they call you racist.”

It feels as if he’s saying that about his supporters, but about a minute later the same white on black type reads, “Your vote proved them all wrong,” meaning it’s, as usual, about him.
The fast-edited video also includes this shot of Black men in red MAGA caps, as if to say, “Look, Black people support me.”
It concludes with this:
Amusingly, as several people on Twitter noticed, the soundtrack is from “The Dark Knight,” a prolific Batman film by Christopher Nolan. The song amusingly is “Why Do We Fall?” by the brilliant composer Hans Zimmer. Given his track record, chances are good the Trump re-election campaign did not acquire the rights to the music.
