A defiant President Donald Trump said Wednesday morning that he will do everything he can to block every one of the Democrats’ efforts to fulfill their constitutionally mandated obligation of checks and balances.
Standing next to the First Lady on the White House lawn, minutes before boarding Marine One, the President told reporters, “We’re fighting all the subpoenas.”
He also chalked up the investigations as “nonsense,” and insisted Democrats were just being partisans trying to win back the White House.
Calling the subpoenas from House Democrats “ridiculous,” the president claimed, without evidence, “I have been the most transparent president and administration in the history of our country by far.”
Trump began his remarks by touting the recent stock market gains, although he did not mention the losses late last year that came largely thanks to his trade wars.
