Ohio GOP Group’s Fundraising Email Insanely Calls Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez a ‘Domestic Terrorist’

“This puts me in danger every time,” AOC says in response, noting these attacks are usually followed by a “spike” in death threats against her.

The Ohio chapter of the College Republican National Committee is under fire for a fundraising email that labels freshman Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York a “domestic terrorist.”

“AOC is a domestic terrorist,” the subject line reads, according to screenshots posted to Twitter from a reporter for the nonprofit Center for Public Integrity. Dave Levinthal is the investigative reporting group’s federal politics editor and senior reporter.

“My fellow students often tell me that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a ‘role model’ and that America should be more like socialist Europe,” the screenshot of the email reads.

“My peers are being brainwashed on a daily basis by Marxist professors who hate America and capitalism,” the email begins, after telling recipients that “donating to the college Republicans is the most effective way to directly impact the future of America.”

“We need your help to stop the brainwashing!” the email implores.

It asks for donations of $25 to “$1000, or more, today.”

It appears to be signed by Tom Ferrall, Chairman of the Ohio Federation of College Republicans.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is not a domestic terrorist.

NCRM contacted the College Republican National Committee via email and telephone but did not receive any response by press time.

“The email fit the template for fundraising emails by similar groups,” The Guardian notes.

The Democratic Congresswoman who has emerged as the top target for Republicans denounced the email, noting that she regularly receives death threats but they spike when these types of attacks are waged.

“AOC,” as Rep. Ocasio-Cortez is frequently called, pinned to blame directly on the GOP.

The Ohio College GOP group on Twitter apologized, but did not explain why they sent the email, claiming it was “unauthorized.”

Levinthal notes this is not the only attack on AOC the Ohio College GOP group sent:
