‘It Will Cost Them!’: Kellyanne Conway Fumes Over Congressional Subpoenas in Ongoing Trump Investigations

White House adviser Kellyanne Conway said Wednesday that President Donald Trump would not comply with subpoenas from investigators in Congress.

The House Judiciary Committee chairman, Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), this week subpoenaed former White House counsel Don McGahn to testify publicly next month. A former White House official has also recently defied a subpoena from the House Oversight Committee, which is also engaged in another legal battle to obtain financial documents related to Trump.

“[Trump] gave an interview to the Washington Post where he made very clear that there is really no reason to comply with all these requests when we have the Mueller investigation. We have already spent $30 million plus of taxpayer dollars in 22 months,” Conway told Fox News.

She added that Democrats were upset with the results of the Mueller investigation.

“I also believe that people are right in this country to look at the Mueller investigation as the definitive, conclusive, nonpartisan, tax-payer funded investigation that in the actual Mueller report makes clear the executive branch, the president himself never intervened, impeded or obstructed that investigation. In fact, made available all these people from the white House and his campaign all the documentation,” Conway continued.

“That’s not stopping Democrats,” Fox News host Sandra Smith interjected.

“It will cost them!” Conway shot back.
