President Donald Trump has been emboldened by Attorney General William Barr’s lies over the past month, most recently the lies he told during Thursday morning’s press conference.
Taking an unearned victory lap, given the damning evidence and facts in the redacted version of the Mueller report, the President lashed out on Twitter aboard Air Force One on his way to Mar-a-Lago.
“I had the right to end the whole Witch Hunt if I wanted,” Trump tweeted. “I could have fired everyone, including Mueller, if I wanted. I chose not to. I had the RIGHT to use Executive Privilege. I didn’t!”
Trump’s tweet makes clear he has no idea how damaging to his own presidency and to the republic his actions were.
