Giuliani Melts Under Tapper’s Grilling: ‘There’s Nothing Wrong’ With Getting Help From Russians

Rudy Giuliani, attorney for President Donald Trump, insisted on Sunday that there was “nothing wrong” with the Trump campaign’s attempt to accept help from Russians to win the 2016 election.

During an interview on CNN, Giuliani slammed Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), who recently criticized Trump over revelations from special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.

“Stop the bull. Stop the bull,” Giuliani complained. “What a hypocrite. What a hypocrite. Any candidate in the whole world in America would take information [about its opponent].”

“From a foreign source, hostile foreign source?” CNN host Jake Tapper pressed.

“Who says it’s even illegal?” Giuliani shot back. “Does the information turn out to be false, by the way? The information that was gleaned and disseminated, every newspaper printed it. Why did The Washington Post print the information that came from a foreign source when they knew it was hacked? Aren’t they just as wrong for doing that as the campaign wanting to use it?”

“No, no, there’s nothing wrong with taking information from Russians,” he added. “It depends on where it came from. It depends on where it came from. You’re assuming that the giving of information is a campaign contribution.”
