Trump Fumes Over Media Reports He’s Canceled War Games That Cost ‘Too Much’ – as Much as 4 Trips to Mar-a-Lago

President Donald Trump Monday afternoon launched into a multi-faceted Twitter tirade, at one point blasting the “FAKE NEWS!” media over reports he has now permanently canceled long-established annual military exercises with South Korea.

The move is yet another effort by Trump to please North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, whom Trump repeatedly says he likes and loves.

“The military drills, or war games as I call them, were never even discussed in my mtg w/ Kim Jong Un of NK—FAKE NEWS!” Trump said on Twitter. “I made that decision long ago because it costs the U.S. far too much money to have those ‘games’, especially since we are not reimbursed for the tremendous cost!”

The point of the war games, as everyone calls them, is to enhance military readiness (something President Trump has falsely claimed is harmed by transgender service members.)

And the cost?

If the President thinks America needs to cancel military exercises with South Korea because they cost “far too much money,” he will also need to cancel his trips to Mar-a-Lago, four of which cost the same as the war games.

The Associated Press last month reported four trips to Mar-a-Lago cost taxpayers $14 million. Reuters last year reported the war games with South Korea also cost $14 million.
