John Oliver Hilariously Mocks ‘Pile of Sh*t’ Trump for Autographing Bibles When He Has No Idea What’s in It

Late-night host John Oliver went after President Donald Trump for signing covers of Bibles while visiting tornado survivors in Alabama this week.

Comparing it to an Adam Sandler movie from the 1990s called “World’s Worst President,” the HBO host admitted that he is embarrassed by how hilarious he still thinks Trump is. Despite all of the horrific things he’s said, Oliver noted that the president still manages to make people laugh with his unbelievable stupidity.

“This week the Trump TV show that we’re all forced to live inside, jumped the shark for the 485th time,” Oliver said.

An MSNBC news report said that people in the church shelters asked Trump to autograph their Bibles and “he happily complied.”

“Of course he did!” Oliver exclaimed. “I’m not remotely surprised Trump did that, I’m just slightly confused as to why anyone would want him to. Because seeing Trump’s autograph on a Bible should be like seeing a picture of your own mom on the cover of a Penthouse magazine. It should render the whole thing useless, and if you keep reading after discovering it, you’re going directly to Hell.”

He explained that it isn’t the first time a president has signed a Bible, but signing the cover made it particularly weird, especially with the Trump signature.

“I know it’s easy to make jokes about how Donald Trump doesn’t know what’s inside a Bible, but that’s only because, as we learned when he ran for president, he really has no idea what’s inside a Bible,” Oliver continued.

He played a clip of the unfortunate exchange Trump had with reporters who probed him on his favorite passages. He awkwardly refused to answer any questions, even when it came to whether he was an Old Testament or New Testament person.

Oliver then played a clip of Trump accidentally calling Tim Cook, Tim Apple and cracked up at the idea he thinks all corporations are named after themselves and handed over to their children.

When Trump does something truly horrific, Oliver explained, it’s usually followed by something so pathetically stupid that it’s hilarious. He noted that it doesn’t excuse or dismiss the horrible things he’s done, but it’s hard not to laugh.
