Dr. Jeremy Richman, the father of a 6-year old Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting victim, was found dead at a Connecticut town hall. Police say they suspect suicide but have not released any other details, except to say his “death does not to appear to be suspicious,” Mass Live reports.
Avielle Richman was just six years old in 2012 when a gunman slaughtered 20 five and six-year olds and six school officials.
Richman created the Avielle Foundation to work to reduce gun violence, in his daughter’s memory.
“This is a heart breaking event for the Richman family and the Newtown Community as a whole, the police department’s prayers are with the Richman family right now, and we ask that the family be given privacy in this most difficult time,” Newtown, Connecticut Police Lieutenant Aaron Bahamonde said.
