Cohen Sues Trump

Michael Cohen has filed a lawsuit in a New York court against the Trump Organization.

Details are emerging.

The Washington Post’s Aaron Blake has posted a portion of the suit. He reports the suit “says he has millions of dollars of unreimbursed legal fees related to Mueller, etc., that Trump Org is responsible for.”

CNBC reportsCohen argues that the Trump Organization, where Cohen worked for roughly [sic] as an executive vice president and special counsel to Trump, had a ‘contractual agreement’ to compensate Cohen and ‘to pay attorneys’ fees and costs incurred’ by Cohen related to his ‘work with and on behalf of the Organization and its principals, directors, and officers.'”

“That work involves special counsel Robert Mueller’s ongoing Russia investigation, the filing says, as well as ‘multiple congressional hearings.'”

MSNBC’s Tom Winter on-air says that “if Michael Cohen’s allegations are true,” the “Trump organization is on the hook” for these fees. MSNBC’s Ken Dilanian adds that there are two sets of requests for $1.9 million, which would total $3.8 million.

The Trump Organization has not issued a statement yet.
