Bombshell Exposé Reveals Roger Ailes May Have Fed Trump Questions Ahead of Fox News GOP Debate

Candidate Donald Trump may have been given questions ahead of a Fox News GOP presidential debate by none other than the conservative news network’s founder and CEO, the late Roger Ailes, according to a bombshell exposé by The New Yorker’s Jane Mayer.

Many remember the huge splash that opened the Fox News GOP debate, with then-anchor Megyn Kelly telling Trump: “You’ve called women you don’t like ‘fat pigs,’ ‘dogs,’ ‘slobs,’ and ‘disgusting animals,’ ” to which Trump replied,  “Only Rosie O’Donnell!”

Was that staged?

“Fox, however, may have given Trump a little help,” Mayer, an award-winning investigative journalist, reports. “A pair of Fox insiders and a source close to Trump believe that Ailes informed the Trump campaign about Kelly’s question. Two of those sources say that they know of the tipoff from a purported eyewitness.”

“In addition,” Mayer continues, “a former Trump campaign aide says that a Fox contact gave him advance notice of a different debate question, which asked the candidates whether they would support the Republican nominee, regardless of who won. The former aide says that the heads-up was passed on to Trump, who was the only candidate who said that he wouldn’t automatically support the Party’s nominee—a position that burnished his image as an outsider.”

“A Fox spokesperson,” Mayer notes, “strongly denied the allegations,” as does Kelly.

But Mayer also notes that Kelly, in her book, “wrote that the day before the debate Trump called Fox executives to complain, saying he’d heard that Kelly planned to ask ‘a very pointed question directed at him.'”

Wikileaks reveals that former interim chair of the DNC, and at the time a CNN contributor, Donna Brazile gave the Clinton campaign questions CNN had planned to ask during a debate. CNN fired Brazile, and Trump went ballistic, tweeting about it a half-dozen times, and even calling it “voter fraud.” A few examples.
