Watch: Whitaker Stuns Committee by Telling Judiciary Chairman ‘Your Five Minutes Is Up’

Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker stunned the Judiciary Committee and observers in the gallery Friday morning by telling Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY), “I see that your five minutes is up.”

Committee members are allotted five minutes to ask questions of Whitaker, or any other witness testifying, but those five minutes are monitored by the Chair and can be fluid.

The Acting Attorney General also told the Chairman he will be invoking executive privilege if asked about any conversations with President Trump. He does not have the legal authority to do so.

Whitaker also made clear he will not cooperate with the Committee. His answers were combative and intentionally disruptive. He even blasted the Republican Ranking Member for not asking him questions about the DOJ’s efforts on religious liberty or other issues important to him.
