Watch: Top House Democrat Says Trump ‘Appears’ to Have Committed a Crime Based on Cohen’s Explosive Testimony

House Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-MD) Wednesday evening is saying it “appears” President Donald Trump committed a crime while in office, based on testimony given earlier in the day by Michael Cohen.
“I believe he told the truth,” Cummings said of the president’s former personal attorney, who testified for over six hours Wednesday.
Asked, “Do you believe the President committed a crime while in office?” Chairman Cummings replied, “Based on what — looking at the text and listening to Mr. Cohen, it appears that he did.”
“That’s not for me to say,” he added, “I’m basing that on what has already been filed.”
