‘The Days of Protecting the President at All Costs Are Over’: Chairman Cummings Delivers Brutal Rebuke to GOP

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) on Wednesday delivered a brutal smackdown of Republican lawmakers during his opening statement at Michael Cohen’s hearing.

While addressing criticisms of his decision to invite Cohen to testify after admitted he had previously lied under oath, Cummings slammed the GOP for using their power to cover up Trump’s alleged misdeeds throughout the first two years of his presidency.

“The days of this committee protecting the President at all costs are over,” Cummings said.
